My name is Joe Sib and along with my partner Bill Armstrong we own Sideonedummy Records. Home to: Flogging Molly, Gogol Bordello, Dusty Roads and The River Band, ZoX, The Casualties, Gaslight Anthem, The Briggs, Bedouin Soundclash, The Dan Band, 7Seconds, Kill Your Idols and many more.
 
In 1990 after growing up in San Jose I decided it was time to head to LA. After hanging around for about 6 months I met three guys from Chicago and we decided to start a band. The band was called WAX and we spent the next 6 years touring and recording. Remember the Spike Jonze "guy on fire" video? That was WAX.  Wax melted in 1995 and then I put together the "all star" band 22 Jacks. Featuring Steve Soto(Adolescents) Chris Shiflett(Foo Fighters) Matt Riddle(Face to Face) and Jose Medeles(The Breeders) 22Jacks recorded two studio albums (Uncle Bob and Going North) as well as a Live EP, Overserved which included a guest vocal appearance from Joey Ramone. 22Jacks’ tour schedule was extensive, including several stints across the United States, Canada and Australia.
 
I have been involved in Punk Rock since I was 14 years old. I was in my first band at 16 and went on my first tour at 18(Front-Line) opening for The Circle Jerks and 7 Seconds. I grew up in San Jose California in the early 80`s and was lucky enough to be a part of an early DIY scene that was home to great bands like The Faction, Los Olvidados, Social Unrest, Executioner, Crucifix, The Stiffs, Grim Reality and many more. In the early 1980`s a radio program hosted by Alex Morgan called "Vinyl Rights" aired every Thursday night.  This program was religiously listened to by every "punker" in San Jose. Vinyl Rights was the place to find out who was coming to town, what new release was in stores or who left what band to play with another band. But, most importantly it was the place to find out about new music by new bands.  I hope that Complete Control Radio will have the same impact on listeners as "Vinyl Rights" had on me.
