Thisis the music that was alternative before they called it "alternative" –punk, new wave, postpunk, goth, industrial, two-tone ska, classic 70’sreggae, etc, etc, etc.
It’s the music that made you trade inyour bellbottoms, long hair and Led Zep t-shirts for spiked hair,skinny ties, dreadlocks or dayglow.
If you think the years 1975 through 1989 were the greatest period of time in the history of rock n’ roll then “Retrograde” is how you should start your weekend.

Great to talk to a lot of you at the From the Jam/Hugh Cornwell show the other night. If you missed that show, you missed a lot. Bruce and Rick were tight as ever and Russell Hastings did a killer job in the Paul Weller slot. All classic songs from The Jam, including tons of album cuts you wouldn’t necessarily expect in the set. Thanks to everyone for the kind words on my DJ set to open the night. Thanks for all the continued great response to the show. So cool to know that you all love this music as much as I do. Tons of great classic Indie concerts are comin up – The English Beat are playing both the Fonda and the Grove of Anaheim, X is playing their 31st Anniversary concert on April 10th at the Fonda and there are 3 MAJOR classic Indie artists coming to the Hollywood Bowl this Spring. | Thanks for the amazing phone calls this past Saturday. Absolutely blown away by the positive response to the show. I really appreciate the kind words. All I can say is that its pretty hard to screw up when playing this great music. We'll have more tickets for the likes of X, Peter Murphy, Squeeze, Killing Joke and more coming up this Saturday.
Just found out I'll be spinning to open for the X show at the HOB Anaheim – excited about that. Come say wassup if you are going to the show. I also spin an old-school reggae/ska set for 4 hours every Sunday night at "Jamaican Gold" at Forbidden City. Love to see you there.
If you haven't checked it out yet, pick up the new Elvis Costello album "Momofuku." It’s good, with an old-school Elvis flavor on a lot of the tracks.
